Elliot

Elliot is in a fight with leukemia and has the spirit to beat it. He is one tough cookie. His joyous spirit and positive disposition have never diminished, despite his many health issues. Elliot was born with Down Syndrome, during the world’s Covid pandemic. Unfortunately, he contracted Covid when he was a couple months old and was hospitalized for several weeks. He has had issues with his kidneys, stemming from Megaureter. He required surgery to fix that issue. He has had Speech, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and even Music therapy. Some of these services since he was just several months old. When old enough to walk, he required a walker to support himself. This is typical with kids who have Down syndrome. They struggle to walk because of weaker muscles. As he got stronger, he transitioned from the walker to wearing leg braces. Elliot was hospitalized for pneumonia and para flu. It was while being treated for pneumonia, that he was diagnosed with leukemia. The kid can’t catch a break.
